DIRECTORY OF HISTORIC MORRIS COUNTY, NEW JERSEY
Presented by the Morris County Heritage Commission

INTRODUCTION

To commemorate its 25th Anniversary, the Morris County Heritage Commission published the Directory of Historic Morris County, New Jersey, in 1995. In 1998 an expanded version of the Directory appeared for the first time on the World Wide Web. This 2004 version has been further updated with an even more comprehensive listing of museums, historical associations, archives, and bibliographic source materials. The overall format has been improved, making it easier to navigate.

For tourists the Directory is a museum guide; for historians--a means of locating archival repositories; for teachers and students--an invaluable bibliography. For those involved in local history and historic preservation, the Directory provides a list of organizations whose members share their interests and concerns. We hope this information will increase people's awareness of the historical resources in their community that they may arrive at a fuller appreciation of Morris County's rich historical legacy.
